3 Examples of Cap & Trade “Extras” What a bunch of Cap!

Add to Technorati Favorites

If you are familiar with Neal Boortz, then you’ve heard him talk to and about Jamie Dupree.  Jamie has a daily blog that Neal links to.  Today, while reading Nealz Nuze, he directed his readers to Jamies blog specifically – Jamie is reading the Cap and Trade Bill, and outlining portions for his readers.

Today, he outlined just three of the extras added in.  It is pretty eye opening:

On page 1193, the bill would add a section to the Social Security Act on an “Energy Refund Program.”

Basically, those making no more than 150% of the poverty line, would get monthly cash payments from the government to offset the extra costs that are caused by this bill.

In other words, as your energy bill goes up, the feds will help offset that increase.

That would mean single individuals making about $17,000 a year and families of four with $33,000 in income would be eligible for energy payments.

Or how about:

The bill would also tinker with the Earned Income Tax Credit, by doubling the EITC for those with no dependents, and include an inflation adjustment. That’s on page 1209

And the capper:

Then there is an interesting section right after the EITC language, Sec. 433, “Protection of Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds.”

From the way I read it, the administrators of Medicare and Social Security would be able to tap into general revenues of the U.S. Government, if it is determined that the Cap and Trade bill has resulted in a reduction of revenues going into those two trust funds.

Let’s say that again. The chieftains of Medicare and Social Security would be able to lay claim to tax dollars to offset money that did NOT come into the trust funds because of a loss of jobs attributed to the Cap and Trade bill.

Remember, this is just THREE of the earmarks in this bill.  Somehow I feel certain that there are at least one or two more examples of pig ears in the 1300 plus page bill.

I have included a link to both Jamie Dupree’s entire article, and also to the bill itself.  I intend to read the whole thing when I get back from our 4th celebration (and praying that it won’t be the last one we are allowed to celebrate).  I will write further on this issue, as I think it is absolutely vital that we are all fully aware of what that congress of evil is trying to force upon us.

Don’t be uniformed.  Don’t hide your head in the sand – regardless of how warm and cozy it might feel.  It isn’t safe.  And remember, when your head is in the sand, WHAT is sticking up in the air?

42% Say Climate Change Bill Will Hurt The Economy

Add to Technorati Favorites

Americans have mixed feelings about the historic climate change bill that passed the House on Friday, but 42% say it will hurt the U.S. economy.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that just 19% believe the climate change bill passed by the House on Friday will help the economy. Fifteen percent (15%) say it will have no impact, and 24% are not sure.

But what is somewhat more telling, in my opinion, is the fact that there is a huge divide between Mainstream America and the “political class”.

The divide on the question between populist or Mainstream America and the Political Class is a wide one. Fifty percent (50%) of Mainstream Americans say the climate control measure will hurt the economy, but two-thirds of the Political Class (67%) say it will help.

That shows the utter disconnect of the political people in Washington. Predictions are from 200k to 850k jobs lost, most new jobs created by this bill will be temporary and the new energy sources that are being touted (solar and wind for the most part) will not be that effective.

Listening to Fox earlier, I heard a Republican make the astounding comment that “most people” are concerned about carbon emissions. Personally, I really hadn’t thought about it until this bill came up, especially with the air standards already in place.

Considering that the temperature has been shown to go up POINT 6 degrees since 1850 and DOWN POINT 7 degrees in the last 11 years – WHAT is this massive threat they are speaking about? The Dem on the same show boldy stated that the “world is warming, the waters are rising…”

Why is it there are more and more people moving away from this RELIGION of environazis? Because they went from protecting the environment to PUNISHING the people for just living.

Check out this factoid:

Forty percent (40%) of U.S. voters say global warming is a very serious problem, but voters are closely divided over whether it is caused by human activity or long-term planetary trends. In recent months, voters have been trending away from the idea that humans are to blame.

Hmmm  – 40% isn’t a majority – and what can we do about Mother Earth releasing CO2? If half the 40% believe it is natural causes, that means that 20% believe that it is man made. Majority? Please.

So, what’s interesting is with all this info on people being  “concerned with carbon emissions” is that 60% of America would LOVE to see new plants out there to solve this energy crunch rather than FORCING us to use less electricity because know it alls are telling us something that ISN’T TRUE.

Barack – bubby – why is it ok for IRAN to have NUCLEAR power but not your OWN country?  It’s actually the cleanest, greenest and least expensive of all the standard electrical sources, makes thousands of MEGAWATTS per day, and doesn’t actually release carbon to the atmosphere? It wouldn’t take many of these to solve our problems.

At least three-out-of-five voters have consistently said that developing new sources of energy is more important than reducing the amount of energy Americans now consume.

Bet you won’t hear Congressional Socialists like Chucky “GonnaGetcha” Schumer touting THESE poll numbers.

Cap and Tax us to death passed! It’s time to gear up!

Add to Technorati Favorites

By now I’m sure you’ve all heard that the Cap and Trade bill passed through congress yesterday by a vote of 212 to 219. We lost by only seven votes! Did you realize that eight republican congress people voted FOR the C & T?  Yes.

Once again, we see the major problem with our current crop of GOP representatives. With obvious fear and loathing, we have made our wishes known; yet these eight representatives succumbed to pressure or greed and caved to the power hungry evil that is our current congress.

Do you realize that if these 8 representatives had stayed true to their constituents or their (if applicable) consciences, the C & T would have FAILED??  This is another hideous example of the lack of ethics and conscience in congress.

From Michelle Malkin we got the list of the eight traitors along with their contact phone numbers. Here it is:

Bono Mack (CA) (202) 225-5330
Castle (DE) (202) 225-4165
Kirk (IL) (202) 225-4385 (And he’s seriously considering running for Senate!)
Lance (NJ) (202) 225-5361
LoBiondo (NJ) (202) 225-6572
McHugh (NY) (202) 225-4611
Reichert (WA) (202) 225-7761
Smith (NJ) (202) 225-3765

(Phone numbers h/t commenter rightwingmom)

Now we need to call these representatives repeatedly if necessary. We need to let them know that we will campaign actively to ensure that they are NOT re-elected! Even if they are not our official representative, we will make sure it gets out to everyone what they have done; and how they are NOT true to the conservative ideals and that they do NOT deserve to represent us in any way. Believe me, if they get enough phone calls, it will make a difference.

The next thing we all have to do is to get in touch with our senators by phone and by fax. Over and over and over again. Supposedly, they will not be voting on the C & T until the fall (this is what we were told when we called yesterday). However, we have learned recently that we cannot actually trust what comes out of the mouths of our representatives! (Can you imagine that??) Therefore, assume NOTHING. Start the campaign now to let the senators know that we will NOT tolerate being levied in this drastic and horrific way. Their careers depend on how they vote on this despicable bill.

Another thing. We are trying to find out who the corporate sponsors for Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, the eight traitors and other of the ‘stand out’ congress people. When we find out who those sponsors are, we intend to institute a very vocal and active boycott of those corporations. They have to know that their support of these people has consequences. Just as the representatives’ votes have consequences. We are watching… and we are keeping track.

Proof that Libs could care less about us – the truth hurts!

Michelle Malkin has dug up some rather disturbing information.

The Democrats don’t care how much costs go up or how many people lose jobs. Period.

This lunacy based on the FALLACY, LIE, BS of global warming is JUST ANOTHER WAY TO TAX US TO DEATH.

And the fact that the REPUBLICANS introduced protection amendments to keep people from paying outrageous costs or losing their jobs is something that people need to trumpet all over the land.

The Democrats REJECTED all 3 amendments to protect YOU.

Come on people – see the freaking truth for once.

The Democrats are ABANDONING you to make sure that this false religion of enviromentalism is more important that your job or wallet.

It’s ok, I guess, to pay 5 bucks for gas or have unemployment get over 15%.

Check this out from the Wall Street Journal via Michelle Malkin:

Even as Democrats have promised that this cap-and-trade legislation won’t pinch wallets, behind the scenes they’ve acknowledged the energy price tsunami that is coming. During the brief few days in which the bill was debated in the House Energy Committee, Republicans offered three amendments: one to suspend the program if gas hit $5 a gallon; one to suspend the program if electricity prices rose 10% over 2009; and one to suspend the program if unemployment rates hit 15%. Democrats defeated all of them.

The reality is that cost estimates for climate legislation are as unreliable as the models predicting climate change. What comes out of the computer is a function of what politicians type in. A better indicator might be what other countries are already experiencing. Britain’s Taxpayer Alliance estimates the average family there is paying nearly $1,300 a year in green taxes for carbon-cutting programs in effect only a few years.

Americans should know that those Members who vote for this climate bill are voting for what is likely to be the biggest tax in American history. Even Democrats can’t repeal that reality.

Schumer says health care isn’t dead yet – Dems might have to do it alone!

Add to Technorati Favorites

This is getting creepy – we had just no more than posted the article about focus, and talking about how the Dems might get sneaky when this pops up on my news wire from FOX.

Chucky “I’m gonna get you” Schumer is at it again. This man is a dyed in the wool socialist and is out to make you into his image whether YOU like it or not.

He is bound a determined to get this health care plan through, costing, no costing, plan, no plan, what ever the cost, YOU’LL pay it.

The House of Reps is doing the same thing under Pelosi – starting a bill for a SINGLE PAYER MEDICARE SYSTEM for ALL Americans – mandatory.

Except unions and the Federal Government – of course. WHY IS THAT? Why is no one faxing the House and Senate and asking WHY this plan excludes them – WHY can THEY have their own plans, untaxed and unfettered? What makes them so special? They’re OUR reps – WE’RE the ones THEY should consider special.

The ultimate, snide, condescending, loathing, hate filled arrogance of these people is beyond anything we have seen before. The small smirks and sneers say it all. They look down their noses at us, because when we elected them to office, they achieved demi god status and are immediately better than us. Listen to their words and how they say them – how they look when it comes out of their mouth. They know we don’t want this, and they don’t care.

The NYT/CBS poll was of I believe a little over 100 people and 48 said they voted for BO while only 24 said McCain. This is a highly SKEWED lie. This is a poll that is 2:1 in favor of BO to begin with and they are mostly going to support the health care plan.

Is it any wonder that 72% of this LITTLE poll was for BO’s health care?

The Gallup poll of, I believe, 1000 people showed 42% for 42% against. Not the overwhelming poll the Senator wants to hear. But then – BO had a mandate with a slight majority of the popular votes – right?

Read all about the arrogance of Schumer and the dems.

It isn’t dead yet my friends. Keep fighting the fight!

Walpin-gate opens wider – IG proven right – FBI involved

Add to Technorati Favorites

Well, now.

There is a stink coming from the beltway, and it is smelling like it is coming from an area around Pennsylvania Ave.

New information is coming out regarding what happened with IG Walpin and the firing of that same IG by Barack Obama. Shattering information. In depth information that points towards cronyism and machine politics that smells an awful lot like Nixon with his Watergate people. A major cover up.

Walpin isn’t the only IG in trouble with our “transparent” President.

Let’s get into some of the details:

The president fired Mr. Walpin June 11 after Mr. Walpin filed two reports critical of Obama friends. The highest-profile of the two reports focused on misuse of funds at Sacramento’s St. Hope Academy, then run by former NBA star Kevin Johnson before Mr. Johnson was elected Sacramento’s mayor in November. Mr. Johnson was a frequent stump speaker for Mr. Obama during last year’s campaign and has claimed in TV interviews to be particularly good friends with first lady Michelle Obama.

Friends with the Obamas? Supporter? This at the least has some tinge of protection of a person who is without a doubt guilty of something not good in regard to handling of Federal Taxpayer Dollars.

Now comes more interesting news:

In turn, the U.S. attorney filed a complaint against Mr. Walpin, charging him with unethical behavior throughout the investigation. The White House fired Mr. Walpin long before the relevant committee would have finished its assessment of the U.S. attorney’s complaint.

As The Washington Times reported in a previous editorial, U.S. Attorney Brown’s complaint included at least two major, easily discernible errors of fact. Many other complaints against Mr. Walpin, both by Mr. Brown and by other AmeriCorps officials, were strangely petty in nature.

Now here is where the story gets really interesting. On the very same day that the president fired Mr. Walpin, St. Hope’s executive director, Rick Maya, left his job at St. Hope. He did not go quietly. His resignation letter charged Mr. Johnson and several St. Hope board members with numerous ethical violations. Most explosively, he charged that a board member improperly deleted e-mails of Mr. Johnson’s that already were under a federal subpoena.

So, we have INSIDE confirmation of what was said by the IG who according to Barack was “confused, disoriented, …” and that is why he was dismissed.

Now the hammers start to fall:

On Wednesday, the Sacramento Bee reported that Mr. Maya’s allegations have been deemed serious enough that the FBI is investigating potential obstruction of justice at St. Hope. In that light, the firing of Mr. Walpin, who properly blew the whistle on mismanagement and possible corruption, looks ill-considered.

Oops. Damn that confused, old, troublemaking, rebellious man we all saw on Beck look about as harmless as a teddy bear. Now he’s gone and done it – he’s got the FBI involved.

I wonder how long it will take for the White House to start backing away from KJ and saying they didn’t know anything about this whole affair at the time of the firing.

It also was learned last week that the White House is involved in major disputes with two other inspectors general who were poking around the administration’s business, including Neil M. Barofsky, whose job is to serve as watchdog for spending the $787 billion in controversial economic bailout funds.

All of this suggests that the purported White House mistreatment of independent inspectors general is a scandal that might have real legs. As well it should.

Wow. The conspiracy theorist strikes again. Kind of funny how we keep getting these things right when everyone who is trying to spike us keeps telling us we’re future forecasting and fantasizing without any truth in the matter. We must be touching some buttons somewhere, eh?

Amazing how accurate someone can be when they list facts and then comment on what it could mean based on proven behavior observed by most people. Speculation obviously isn’t as wild when you keep hitting the mark, huh?

Once again, why is this cover up of criminal behavior, dismissing of charges, investigating and complaining about an IG who was RIGHT, and the pattern of cover ups already taking place (Philly NBPP poll thugs for example) being tolerated by the main stream media?

Better yet, with this pattern of Chicago politics dishonesty coming out, why would anyone BELIEVE what this man says?

“I don’t want to run the auto industry” – but he takes over a car company and forces two into bankruptcy.

“You can keep your private health care package” – but his handlers say that was rhetoric – “Don’t take him literally”

“It’s not a single payer plan like medicare” – but in the same article it talks about that being exactly what it is.

Now – he is telling us about all these crises that aren’t really crises and ignoring the crises, like Iran, that he shouldn’t be ignoring.

When does this strong arming, bullying, cover up, lying and otherwise very bad behavior approach the level of Nixon? I had hesitated to call for the “I” word, but at this time, it starts to creep up from the subconcious to the concious mind.

I wonder what the excuses will be this time?

Obama Walks Back Promise On Keeping Your Private Insurance

Add to Technorati Favorites

When people started hearing promises by Barack Obama that we could keep our private insurance and that he didn’t want to take over insurance, that he didn’t want government to become a single payer system, that we were all liars, I just sat back and waited.

I kept waiting for the other shoe to silently drop.

I have already, in my short stint, been accused of being a consiracy nut. That I believe aliens are pulling the strings, etc. Still not sure where that came from since I have linked to information on almost every single thing I have talked about.

I know there are people who are questioning the sanity of what I talked about in my very long post about the breakdown of what health insurance could really cost. (up to the tune of 22k dollars per person per year – see the article for my math)

I realize it seems far fetched.

But what I based my math on was the CBO PARTIAL scoring (their word for “figuring up the potential cost” or guessing) of the health care plans before Congress RIGHT NOW and the idea that they were going to base this system on the current medicare system which doubled in cost to the taxpayers every 4 years.

“But Rich, Barack, the anointed one, says we won’t be single payer or based on a medicare system!”, you say.

Couple of things to remember – you as an employer aren’t going to keep the costs in your life of insurance if you could foist it off on the government to stay competitive with a competitor that does it. That would quickly kill your market share.

Government is going to tax employers who don’t cover employees, and employees are going to get taxed if they have a private plan as if the value of that plan were INCOME. If you make 50k and your insurance plan is worth 15k – you WILL be paying taxes at a 65k level.

Go look up the difference and see how much more you’ll pay – dare ya!

And if you think this won’t happen – this is the SAME party who believes if you don’t WANT to join a union – you don’t deserve a job or you get charged the dues anyway. Sound familiar? Want proof of that – see the long list of videos about union tactics.

So, why am I rehashing all this? We are seeing more and more proof of what we’ve been predicting in ominous little comments such as the one you see in the linked article. There is also independent corroboration of what we looked at in that big long article – that 119 people who ARE insured will eventually be forced onto the dole of government insurance – thus making our numbers seem all that more realistic.

I can see the future quote now:

“America, I am sorry that it has come to this juncture. While I, as President, do not want to step in and nationalized the entire health care system, I find myself being forced into this by the failure of the private health insurance industry to continue to hold up it’s part of the bargain while government health care patients enjoy all the benefits. Therefore, it saddens me to sign into law this bill so that I can save you all from yourselves and bring you into the fold under my thu…. er contro….er wings!”
