GOP… I still stand with you.

Too much lately I have seen my fellow Republican friends and followers on social networking sites such as twitter, myspace and facebook, abandoning the Republican Party as a whole. While they remain conservative, they no longer want to be associated with the GOP. Do I blame them? No… but I do wonder why some people jump ship so much.

When I joined the Republican Party at age 18 when I registered to vote, I did so because of the views of most people who are also Republican. Pro-Life, lower taxes, limited government, death penalty, war, the environment and so forth.

Now it seems that even though we still have the same views as before, we can’t seem to grasp the “limited government” part of the spectrum.

Too much empowerment to either political party, and you end up with the government that we have now. A president with a socialistic agenda that wants to control everything from health care to the economy.

The GOP has not had a strong “leader” in quite a few years. While George W. Bush had some great things going for him, I do not think he was the leader we need to represent the Republican Party.

The entire GOP needs to be reconstructed from the ground up. I will always stand for and claim Republican as my party, but there needs to be some changes made if we are to avoid losing voters to the Marxist left wingers.

When I first heard of the Tea Parties that were being held on tax day, I was so excited I felt like a kid in a candy store. It seemed that us conservatives were finally stepping up to something! The Tulsa Tea Party was a great success with 3500+ attending at LaFortune Park. (We have another tea party July 4th in Broken Arrow from 10am-2pm at Haikey Creek Park. For more information, please visit After the tea party was over, I didn’t see a whole lot during the next few months of anyone doing much of anything to continue our support for what is right, and what we believe. We need a strong leader and someone who can guide the GOP back to its roots.

We may be a nation in distress right now, but I still hold my head high and call myself Republican. 2010 and 2012 will be a new beginning and a clean sweep for the GOP. I believe the USA is finally waking up and seeing that Barack Obama and his cabnet of ill willed advisors are not providing the “hope and change” that was so promised long ago.
