Obama – Delusions of Dictatorhood?

I have listened to Mr. Obama running on and on now for 6 months.  I may have even mentioned a time or two in previous posts my fear that in 4 years, we will not have elections.   And, sadly, Obama’s recent speeches only go further to deepen my fears.

I will highlight two of his most recent and important speeches to explain the logic of my fears.

The first was his speech extolling his takeover of the auto industry.  In the article by Terrence P. Jefferey,  I, Barack Obama, on CNSNews.com on June 3;  Obama used the personal pronoun “I” a total of 34 times as he announced he was nationalizing GM.  He referred to “congress” one time, and “law” ZERO times.

The thing that effects me so strongly aside from the nationalization of our auto industry is the fact that it appears that HE, Obama who makes the decisions.  HE, Obama sets all policy.  HE, Obama rules all.  There is no obvious representation involved here.  Just Obama’s decisions.  Is this how our country is supposed to be run?  I thought there were checks and balances?  Maybe not.  Here are a few bits:

“From the beginning, I made it clear that I would not put any more tax dollars on the line if it meant perpetuating the bad business decisions that had led these companies to seek help in the first place,” he said. “I refused to let these companies become permanent wards of the state, kept afloat on an endless supply of taxpayer money. In other words, I refused to kick the can down the road.”
To prevent GM from becoming a ward of the state, Obama made it the property of the state.
I decided then,” said the first person in chief, “that if GM and their stakeholders were willing to sacrifice for their companies’ survival … then the United States government would stand behind them.”
Here, I, Barack virtually identified himself with the United States government.
He did not say he would ask Congress to enact legislation to provide the executive with the funds needed to purchase 60 percent of GM or with the legal authority to restructure the company and oversee its business plan.
He said: “I decided then … the United States government would stand behind them.”   http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=49056

This, to me, is worrisome.  The content of the speech in and of itself fills me with fear for my country.  But, the fact that it appears that Obama, all by himself, with no reference to law, precedent or example, makes all of the decisions is a thing not to be borne lightly.  This is in total disregard of our Constitution, what our Founding Fathers intended, and what has made our country great.

The next speech we will look at is the speech he made last week in Cairo.  I read the entire transcript of this speech.  In it, I counted FIFTY uses of “I” (and ZERO uses of “terrorism, terror, terrorist”).  According to himself, Obama has done so much for the world already!  And to think, we never realized!

I have picked parts of his speech to highlight here.

First, is the appalling directives to Israel; which further proves our point that Obama is NOT Israel’s friend:

Now is the time for Palestinians to focus on what they can build. The Palestinian Authority must develop its capacity to govern, with institutions that serve the needs of its people. Hamas does have support among some Palestinians, but they also have responsibilities. To play a role in fulfilling Palestinian aspirations, and to unify the Palestinian people, Hamas must put an end to violence, recognize past agreements, and recognize Israel’s right to exist.

At the same time, Israelis must acknowledge that just as Israel‘s right to exist cannot be denied, neither can Palestine‘s. The United States does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements. This construction violates previous agreements and undermines efforts to achieve peace. It is time for these settlements to stop.

Israel must also live up to its obligations to ensure that Palestinians can live, and work, and develop their society. And just as it devastates Palestinian families, the continuing humanitarian crisis in Gaza does not serve Israel‘s security; neither does the continuing lack of opportunity in the West Bank. Progress in the daily lives of the Palestinian people must be part of a road to peace, and Israel must take concrete steps to enable such progress.

Not only has Obama forgotten how the Palestinians react to any largess by Israel.  Such as bombs, missiles, mortars, suicide bombers.  Not to mention school buses and commuter buses blown up; funerals and weddings blown up; restaurants and shopping centers blown up.  He has made a point of LEGITIMIZING Hamas!   He does not recognize them as the terrorists of Israel and Palestine;  He affords them the respect to imagine that they will have anything to do with ending violence and recognizing Israel’s right to exist!

The next part of the speech that I found really disturbing is his review of Iran, especially their role in NOT terrorism:

…Since the Islamic Revolution, Iran has played a role in acts of hostage-taking and violence against U.S. troops and civilians. This history is well known. Rather than remain trapped in the past, I have made it clear to Iran‘s leaders and people that my country is prepared to move forward. The question, now, is not what Iran is against, but rather what future it wants to build.

I’m thinking the future Iran is looking to build has something to do with nuclear weapons…

The last part of this speech that I want to discuss highlights the many plans that HE, Obama has made; and the funds that HE, Obama will commit to these grandiose plans.

…On science and technology, we will launch a new fund to support technological development in Muslim-majority countries, and to help transfer ideas to the marketplace so they can create jobs. We will open centers of scientific excellence in Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and appoint new Science Envoys to collaborate on programs that develop new sources of energy, create green jobs, digitize records, clean water, and grow new crops. And today I am announcing a new global effort with the Organization of the Islamic Conference to eradicate polio. And we will also expand partnerships with Muslim communities to promote child and maternal health.

Please notice that nowhere does he mention WHERE the funds for all of these programs for the Muslim world will be found.

The whole package; the fact that everything being done is being done at HIS, Obama’s directive; the fact that he never once mentioned terrorism, the fact that he is discarding our longtime ally with his treatment of Israel, the fact that he has completely disregarded the constitutional strictures… it all adds up for me.

Add to all of this the proposed amendment to the Constitution, H. J. Res. 5, proposed by Rep. Jose Serrano, D-NY and introduced on January 6, 2009 and updated on April 18, 2009.  This bill proposes an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.  http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-hj5/show

What is all this mixing up to be?  You be the judge.

  1. “Obama – Delusions of Dictatorhood?” is a great and thought provoking article. Thanks, Sherri.

If those who voted for him read this article, I suspect there will be a lot of soul searching and hopefully a lot of regrets. Behind all the rhetoric turns out to be….. not much of anything.

Removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President? Not without a fight from me!

  2. This was an excellent article!!!

This President is Narcissistic!!!!! And the number of times he used the word “I” in more than 1 speech proves it.

I will not allow the 22nd Amendment to be repealed without a fight either. Obama is ruining this country and I hope that we can make him a one term President

  3. I am saddened that the America I knew is no more. Thank you for making aware to what this narcissist wants to do to America. Rule, dictate and destroy.

Thank you for your great analysis and insightful article.
