Obama – A Change that will Ruin You!

I heard this letter read on Neal Boortz’s show a few days ago, and I have been looking for the transcript since.  I finally located it this evening and it is below.

In light of all the massive changes that Obama and his cronies are making to our country’s basis, and the claims that he will bring changes we can believe in; I am pretty sure that hard working business people never considered that he would be instrumental in absolutely destroying them.  Read the letter:

My name is George C. Joseph. I am the sole owner of Sunshine Dodge-Isuzu, a family owned and operated business in Melbourne, Florida. My family bought and paid for this automobile franchise 35 years ago in 1974. I am the second generation to manage this business.

We currently employ 50+ people and before the economic slowdown we employed over 70 local people. We are active in the community and the local chamber of commerce. We deal with several dozen local vendors on a day to day basis and many more during a month. All depend on our business for part of their livelihood. We are financially strong with great respect in the market place and community. We have strong local presence and stability.

I work every day the store is open, nine to ten hours a day. I know most of our customers and all our employees. Sunshine Dodge is my life.

On Thursday, May 14, 2009 I was notified that my Dodge franchise, that we purchased, will be taken away from my family on June 9, 2009 without compensation and given to another dealer at no cost to them. My new vehicle inventory consists of 125 vehicles with a financed balance of 3 million dollars. This inventory becomes impossible to sell with no factory incentives beyond June 9, 2009. Without the Dodge franchise we can no longer sell a new Dodge as “new,” nor will we be able to do any warranty service work. Additionally, my Dodge parts inventory, (approximately $300,000.) is virtually worthless without the ability to perform warranty service. There is no offer from Chrysler to buy back the vehicles or parts inventory.

Our facility was recently totally renovated at Chrysler’s insistence, incurring a multi-million dollar debt in the form of a mortgage at Sun Trust Bank.

HOW IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CAN THIS HAPPEN?

THIS IS A PRIVATE BUSINESS NOT A GOVERNMENT ENTITY

This is beyond imagination! My business is being stolen from me through NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. We did NOTHING wrong.

This atrocity will most likely force my family into bankruptcy. This will also cause our 50+ employees to be unemployed. How will they provide for their families? This is a total economic disaster.

HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN IN A FREE MARKET ECONOMY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?

I beseech your help, and look forward to your reply. Thank you.

Sincerely,

George C. Joseph
President & Owner
Sunshine Dodge-Isuzu

This letter absolutely broke my heart.  It filled me with fear as well.  As Mr. Joseph asks, HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN?  If we do not stand up and do SOMETHING, it will continue to happen; until all around us, formerly successful people will be destitute; while those who never worked for anything will have everything we once had.

  1. great post Thanks for following, please visit my blog Randy’s Right and feel free to leave commentshttp://randysright.wordpress.com/

    • Screw the dealers! They screwed enough of the customers when things were good. I say P*** on them all!
Support a Jap ,have another Pearl Harbor!

      • First of all, I would like you to notice that in spite of the absolute stupidity of your remarks, not to mention the mean spiritedness and hatefulness, we did NOT delete this comment. If for nothing else than to highlight those previously mentioned sterling qualities.

Just on the off chance that you meant ANY part of what you wrote, I will only say this: In spite of your opinions of car dealerships, you always had a CHOICE whether or not you patronized those dealerships. If you don’t trust them, don’t do business with them. Simple. The PROBLEM, oh brilliant one, is that our CHOICES are being taken from us. As is our RIGHT to own and operate a business that we PAID for and WORKED for. You know… WORK?? I thought not.

  2. I don’t know what to say. I have seen this coming for a long time and now that it’s here all I can say is he won’t be the last. The individual is the smallest minority and it is he who must be protected the most. Group rights is an excuse for any atrocity the state wishes to commit against it’s citizens. When one hears Obama saying that he cares for the individual RUN. But there’s nowhere to run is there. This nation used to be the envy of the world for the opportunity it afforded anyone to be anything his talents allowed him. We are now turning into a third world country where one must have the favor of the dictator to survive.

    • Sean, thanks for the comment. We agree with you, and it is terrifying. It is one thing (I guess) to be born into slavery or socialism or fascism, where you know nothing else; it is another thing entirely to have it thrust upon you in the middle of your life. Once you have freedom, how can you live without it?
Thanks again for the post! Pass the word to all and sundry! It must not be kept secret!

  3. My husband worked for a Chrysler dealer for 15 years. This article made me cry. Please folks, we must stop this government from this tyranny. I’m glad we got out if the car business, but so many great a d regular people depend on the local dealers for their livlihoods. God help us all!

    • Tornado Lady, It made me cry, too. I’m glad you and your family escaped this particular bit of tyranny – but what scares me the most is; WHAT NEXT?? You know he won’t be satisfied with just the banks and the car dealerships. Next it will be the food industry. Where can we go to escape this??
Thanks again for your post. Send this to everyone. We have to keep the hue and cry going!

  4. I have an idea, why don’t the dealership that is getting this man’s business give it back to him at no cost and tell chrysler to get eat something that stinks?

    • Hank, I love your suggestion! I think we all need to email or fax the letter (along with a large, YOU HAVE TO HELP US note) to all of our senators, congressmen, governors, etc. And, also to Chrysler. Hell, let’s send them to Obama too. I’m sure he will read them all and respond, since he is so concerned with us “little people!”
Thanks again for the post, and send this to everyone you know!

  7. Thanks for this post .

  8. This poor dear multi-millionaire getting dumped by reorganization and bankruptcy. he might not be able to afford that private jet he wanted to buy and will now have to settle for a leased – shared jet. How can Obama do this to this man? Cut him down to just 3 hummers in the 8 car garage. Even though car companies have executives who make decisions let’s blame this on unions and Obama and let’s get all our guns out, wave them around and act manly and secede.

I am sure George Soros had something to do with this. Oops my tin foil hat just got blown off by the wind. ZOWEE.

    • Did you even read the article?

The guy is millions in debt due to working with Chrysler on a franchise his family purchased.

He did what they asked him to do because of the whole forcing Chrysler to sell plan from Obama.

He got his franchise yanked after being successful for them and following all their demands.

The unions making on average 70/hr with pay and benefits turned down negotiations to cut their pay to help with company solvency.

      Who mentioned guns or Soros?

Maybe you need to go chase that tinfoil hat down because you, my spiteful union friend, need it.

And what about those 50+ employees in 1100 dealerships? Screw them all – they are all multimillionaires I suppose. Them and their super wealthy children? How about the mortgages they get foreclosed upon?

For what – union greed? How much is each union person going to receive? Between 50 and 110k in the buyout?

No – it isn’t their fault, nor Obama’s for rushing the company into this bankruptcy, nor for Obama not having his car czar set up decency standards for removing PAID FOR franchises.

Kinda curious who the unions are going to be making cars for when they cut 1100 of their customers.

You do realize that the dealers are the actual customers – people who buy cars are buying them from the DEALERS. So without as many solvent dealers helping Chrysler, the UAW will continue to lose work.

      Bright idea.

Caught up to the tinfoil hat yet?

Don’t forget to take your meds. And please bring your drool rag with you the next time.

Try reading the heartbreaking story of everyone this plan has harmed. If you care.

      That’s in question though.

Rather defend the rich union workers and bosses I suppose.

      Have a nice callous life.

  9. “formerly successful people will be destitute; while those who never worked for anything will have everything we once had.”

that’s the way of the liberal. It’s not, “Congrats mister Rich on your success, oh and thanks for hiring me.” its, “Mister Rich you’re so greedy, it’s not fair I have less so gimme some of your success, even though I haven’t earned it.”

The pursuit of happiness means we pursue it, it shouldn’t be given to us.

(fixed it for ya :) )

  10. R3d, thanks for the post. It is horrifying and terrifying, is it not? Unfortunately, the leftside loonies don’t believe in the art of hard work, dedication and perserverance. They believe in paying for their votes. There has to be something we can do – We just have to discover what that something is!
Thanks again; and pass this along to everyone! Knowledge is power!
